For the past five years, we (Nicole & Philip) have been spending time regularly in Karystos, in the very south of the island of Euboea (Evia), Greece’s second-largest island. Karystos combines a harbour atmosphere, historic architecture and close proximity to the beach with a well-established local community. The town is lively without being overcrowded, and offers an infrastructure that makes year-round living possible. It is precisely this blend of authenticity, connection to nature and practicality for everyday life that won us over.

With Amalía House, we aim to offer guests high-quality holiday accommodation in a central location in Karystos. The restored stone house is situated in a quiet side street near Amalía Square. Shops, cafés, harbour restaurants and several beaches are all within walking distance. The location makes it possible to enjoy a car-free holiday, combining peace and quiet with easy access to everything you need for a stay in Karystos.

Amalía House draws inspiration from the traditional architectural style of southern Euboea. Natural stone, clean lines and balanced proportions characterise its exterior. Inside, the focus is on functionality and comfort. Each holiday apartment features its own fully equipped kitchen, private bathrooms and clearly defined sleeping areas. Aesthetics and practicality are perfectly balanced.

There are three self-contained holiday flats under one roof:

  • Amalia Garden Apartment: ground-floor accommodation for 2–3 people with access to the garden
  • Amalia Beletage: first floor, sleeps 4, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large terrace
  • Amalia Penthouse, second floor, sleeps 4, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two terraces and sea views

Amalía House in Karystos can accommodate up to eleven guests in total. Amalia House is a restored stone house with three self-contained holiday apartments, centrally located inKarystos, in the south of Euboea (Evia), Greece.

The accommodation is located in a quiet side street near Amalia Square.

The beach, harbour, cafés, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The combination of a central location and a sheltered residential area means you can get by without a car.

The house can accommodate up to eleven guests and is ideal for families, couples, small groups or workshops.

Each holiday apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen, private bathrooms and clearly separate sleeping areas.

This ensures that privacy and flexibility are maintained – even when booking the entire house together.

You can choose between the ground-floor Garden Apartment with garden access for 2–3 people, the Beletage with two bedrooms and a large terrace for 4 people, and the penthouse with sea views and two terraces for 4 people.

Amalia Penthouse, located at Amalia House, is a holiday apartment for four people situated on higher ground in Karystos, in southern Euboea. The apartment features two bedrooms with double beds and two bathrooms. An open-plan kitchen-diner with a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen forms the central living space. A sofa area with a TV and streaming services completes the living room.

A particular feature of the property is its two terraces: a large terrace with sea views and a smaller terrace with mountain views offer different orientations and ways to enjoy them throughout the day. This combination extends the living space outwards and creates additional areas for relaxation.

Thanks to its central location near Amalia Square, the beach, harbour, cafés and shops are all within walking distance. The 'Amalia Penthouse' combines stunning views, privacy and proximity to the beach within the 'Amalia House' in 'Karystos', southern Euboea.

Amalia Beletage, located at Amalia House, is a holiday apartment accommodating up to four people inKarystos, Euboea. It features two bedrooms with double beds and two separate bathrooms. This layout ensures privacy and is ideal for families or two couples travelling together.

The heart of the flat is the open-plan kitchen-diner, which features a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. A sofa area with a TV and streaming services completes the living space. The clear division between the sleeping and living areas makes it easier to use when the flat is fully occupied.

A key feature is the large terrace overlooking the garden. It serves as an additional living space and extends the living area outwards. Despite being situated on a quiet side street, the flat is within easy reach of Amalia Square, the beaches and the harbour of Karystos.

Amalia Garden Apartment, located at Amalia House, is a ground-floor holiday apartment for 2–3 people in a central location in Karystos on southern Euboea.

The flat has a separate bedroom, a bathroom and a spacious living room with a sofa bed for a third person.

As the apartment is on the ground floor, it is accessible without stairs and is suitable for those using a walking frame. A particular highlight is the direct access to the garden. The outdoor area extends the living space and allows you to enjoy the outdoors in peaceful surroundings.

The fully equipped kitchen is designed for self-catering and offers plenty of storage space for longer stays.
