For the past five years, we (Nicole & Philip) have been spending time regularly in Karystos, in the very south of the island of Euboea (Evia), Greece’s second-largest island. Karystos combines a harbour atmosphere, historic architecture and immediate proximity to the beach with a well-established local community. The town is lively without being overcrowded, and offers an infrastructure that makes year-round living possible. It was precisely this blend of authenticity, a connection to nature and suitability for everyday living that won us over.

With Amalía House, we aim to offer guests high-quality holiday accommodation in a central location in Karystos. The restored stone house is situated in a quiet side street near Amalía Square. Shops, cafés, harbour restaurants and several beaches are within walking distance. The location allows for a car-free holiday and combines tranquillity with close proximity to everything relevant to a stay in Karystos.

Amalía House draws on the traditional architectural style of southern Euboea. Natural stone, clean lines and balanced proportions characterise the exterior. Inside, the focus is on functionality and comfort. Each holiday apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen, private bathrooms and clearly defined sleeping areas. Aesthetics and practicality are in perfect harmony.

There are three self-contained holiday flats under one roof:

  • Amalia Garden Apartment, ground floor, for 2-3 people with garden access
  • Amalia Beletage, first floor, sleeps 4, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large terrace
  • Amalia Penthouse, second floor, sleeps 4, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two terraces and sea views

In total, Amalía House in Karystos can accommodate up to eleven guests. This makes the house ideal for families, couples, small groups or workshops who wish to travel together without having to compromise on separate accommodation units.

Amalia House is a restored stone house comprising three self-contained holiday apartments, centrally located in Karystos in the south of Euboea (Evia), Greece.

The accommodation is located in a quiet side street near Amalía-Square.

The beach, harbour, cafés, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The combination of a central location and a sheltered residential area means you can get by without a car.

The house can accommodate up to eleven guests and is ideal for families, couples, small groups or workshops.

Each holiday apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen, private bathrooms and clearly separate sleeping areas.

This ensures privacy and flexibility – even when the entire house is booked together.

You can choose between the ground-floor Garden Apartment with garden access for 2–3 people, the Beletage with two bedrooms and a large terrace for 4 people, and the Penthouse with sea views and two terraces for 4 people.

Amalia House combines proximity to the beach, a central location in Karystos and a well-organised layout within a historic building in southern-Euboea.

Amalia Penthouse

Amalia Penthouse – 4 people, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sea view and two terraces

The Amalia Penthouse in Amalia House is a holiday apartment for 4 people in an elevated location in Karystos on southern -Euboea. The apartment has two bedrooms with double beds and two bathrooms. An open-plan kitchen-diner with a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen forms the central living area. A sofa area with a TV and streaming services completes the living area.

A special feature are the two terraces: a large terrace with a sea view and a smaller terrace with a mountain view offer different orientations and ways to use the space throughout the day. This combination extends the living space outwards and creates additional areas for relaxation.

Thanks to its central location near Amalia Square, the beach, harbour, cafés and shops are all within walking distance. The Amalia Penthouse combines views, privacy and proximity to the beach within the Amalia House in Karystos, southern -Euboea.

Amalia Beletage – 4 people, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large terrace

The Amalia Beletage in Amalia House is a holiday apartment for up to 4 people in Karystos on Euboea. It has two bedrooms with double beds and two separate bathrooms. This layout ensures privacy and is ideal for families or two couples travelling together.

The heart of the flat is the kitchen-diner with a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. A sofa area with a TV and streaming services completes the living area. The clear division between sleeping- and living areas makes it easier to use when fully occupied.

A key feature is the large terrace overlooking the garden. It serves as an additional living area and extends the living space outwards. Despite being on a quiet side street, the flat is located in the immediate vicinity of Amalia Square, the beaches and the harbour of Karystos.

The Amalia Beletage combines two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a terrace and a central location close to the beach within the Amalia House!

The Amalia Garden Apartment in Amalia House is a ground-floor holiday apartment for 2–3 people in a central location in Karystos on southern Euboea.

The flat has a separate bedroom, a bathroom and a spacious living room with a sofa bed for a third person.

As it is located on the ground floor, the apartment is accessible without stairs and is suitable for walkers. A special feature is the direct access to the garden. The outdoor area extends the living space and allows you to enjoy the outdoors in peaceful surroundings.

The fully equipped kitchen is designed for self-catering and offers plenty of storage space for longer stays.

The beaches, harbour and shops are just a few minutes’ walk from Amalia House. Its central location in Karystos means short distances and the flexibility to plan your day without needing a car.

The Amalia Garden Apartment is ideal for couples, small families or guests requiring accessible facilities who are looking for a holiday flat with garden access near the beach.
